Seeking Counseling and Arrangements for Individual Accommodations

Seeking Counseling and Arrangements for Individual Accommodations

The Technion believes in the right of people with disabilities to be full partners, and grants individual accommodations for students in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (accessibility accommodations for existing public places and services, which include institutions of higher education and the higher education services they provide), 2016 and the Law of Rights of Students with Learning Disabilities in Post-Secondary Education Institutions, 2008.

The Student Counseling and Support Center in the Office of the Dean of Students is solely responsible for the arrangement of these accommodations.

Students requesting to receive individual accessibility accommodations are required to complete an application form in accordance with their particular difficulty.

The forms will be forwarded to the Secretariat of the Student Counseling and Support Center in order to schedule a preliminary interview or counseling session with the relevant counselor, depending on the area of difficulty and the student’s faculty.

In order to enable the processing of applications and to receive accommodations for the requested semester, the application form must be submitted to the individual in charge of accommodations or the learning disability counselor in accordance with the dates posted by the Secretariat of Undergraduate Studies.

The forms will be forwarded to the Student Counseling and Support Center secretariat to schedule a preliminary interview or consultation meeting with a relevant advisor depending on the area of difficulty and the faculty.
It is recommended to contact the learning disabilities team before the diagnosis in order to check the need for a diagnosis before the implementation.

Students can submit application forms every semester until the third week of their studies. Applications for the spring semester will be accepted until May 4, 2023.
