Request for Individual Exam Accommodations

Overview

The Technion is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all students, In accordance with Israeli law. Students with documented disabilities are entitled to apply for individualized accommodations in exams.

Eligibility

Students with documented conditions, including but not limited to physical, sensory, mental health, neurodevelopmental, or specific learning disabilities, may be eligible for accommodations. These are determined based on the student’s functional limitations as documented by a qualified professional.

Application Procedure

Students must submit a formal request for accommodations, accompanied by relevant documentation. This may include medical or psychological evaluations, psychoeducational assessments, or other professional reports.

A signed consent form for the use of medical information may also be required.

Applications must be submitted by the published deadline, typically no later than the third week of the academic semester.

Accommodation Approval Process

The student’s request and supporting documentation will be reviewed by the designated advisor. Based on this review, the advisor will determine the accommodations.

Accommodations are individualized and granted according to the student’s documented functional limitations. They are provided in a manner that does not compromise the academic integrity or essential requirements of the course or program.

It is important to note that international standards concerning the types of accommodations may differ from those applied in Israel.

Accommodations may be granted for the entire duration of the degree, limited to a specific time period, or applicable only to a particular course.

A decision regarding the accommodations will be issued within 30 days of the submission date. The approval will be communicated to the student by the Undergraduate Studies Secretariat.

 

Appeals Process

If a student’s request for accommodations is denied, or if the approved accommodations do not meet the student’s needs, the student has the right to submit an appeal.

Appeals must be submitted within 15 days of receiving the decision.
