A bench next to The Department of Chemical Engineering
This bench with a city view is located on the main road which wraps around the campus, where buses go from the Nesher gate to the Neve Sha’anan gate. This route is much less crowded than the opposite route. Therefore, it is a good place to chill and contemplate.
The city view reminds me of the reason why I’m so interested in engineering, and excites me with regard to how much I can do with the skills I acquired at the Technion. Part of the reason I wanted to study engineering is the awe and admiration for human creations that improve lives, provide convenience; and the curiosity about how those scientific discoveries and inventions were made. Cities, and more specifically, factories, are the epitome of these inventions. Technology does not only bring benefits. There are plenty of challenges in our modern world. But I believe that with the skills acquired in the pursuit of science and technology: curiosity, creativity, persistence, the diligence to find an answer, and thoroughness during that process, we can solve our problems and create miracles that serve everyday life, just like many of the conveniences that we take for granted today.
This is not only a tranquil corner for scientific thoughts, but also a good place for a date, especially under these trees whose leaves fall in the winter. Isn’t it romantic?
