THE GOOD PLACES
The Technion Campus through Students’ Stories
In the autumn of 2024, sixteen international and local Technion students gathered for an emotional mapping workshop. Each student marked a place on the campus map where they had a memorable personal experience. The resulting collection of 16 new landmarks on the Technion grounds was signposted on site. This community-building activity was intended to strengthen connections between students and the campus. The act of mapping through students’ stories adds multiple personal layers to this place of knowledge, discoveries, and academic excellence.
The project was inspired by Candy Chang’s art intervention “Kissing, Crying, and Freaking Out in Public” (Hong Kong, 2013), which reflected on our emotional relationship with the city, suggesting “new possibilities for the way we describe our places.”
