Reiskin Promenade
I discovered this place one pleasant evening, when I wanted to give my mind a break from work. I put on my running shoes and went for a walk around the campus. I always try to take new, unknown routes, so I chose this sidewalk along the busy road. For some reason, I looked up and saw a patch of sky amid the dense trees around. The area, covered with bushes, immediately made me feel at home, as it reminded me of Shimla — a city in Northern India, that I am blessed to call my home. There was a time in my life when I was struggling to make a career choice, and joined a library in a place surrounded by nature and greenery. To reach this library, I took a scenic route that filled me with gratitude, and it immediately lifted my soul and made me feel calm and light.
Similarly, this promenade at the Technion became my route for gratitude and calm. In this difficult time, I often feel like getting up and rushing to take a walk here. I recommend it to everyone who is close to nature, to take a walk here, preferably after 6 pm or before 6 am, to avoid the noise of passing buses and cars. I bet you won’t forget it all your life.
