Entrance to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering
This swing often satisfies my desire for a couple of moments of stolen respite, whether in the middle of a hectic workday or on lazy weekend mornings.
In the bustle of a standard day of research, amidst microscopes, codes, and well-intentioned advice, I often sense that the need for solitude increases, until it reaches a climax, and I find myself longing to break away from people I know, and even admire, and withdraw into myself for a few minutes. I enjoy being alone, even more so in public.
There’s always activity around this swing, but not loud enough to bother or distract — cars passing, students running, friends chatting, birds chirping —just the humdrum of daily life, the “behind-the-scenes” footage of a large tech institute. It allows me to drift off into my own, very interesting world of dreams and personal list of ten-year-plans.
