Academic Tutor Recruitment – Excelling Students to Provide Tutoring Sessions

The Advancement of Students Unit employs excelling students who provide individual tutoring sessions to students.

Tutoring sessions are intended primarily for new students, students who are absent for extended periods of time due to reserve duty or illness, or those who have difficulty understanding the material in a particular course.

These sessions are aimed at clarifying questions or confusion that arise during one’s studies, imparting effective study habits, and helping students to complete material that they have missed.

Tutors choose which subjects they want to teach.

Benefits:

  • For the tutee (person being tutored) – the lesson helps students solve particular learning challenges.
  • For the tutor – the lesson that the tutor teaches represents a repetition of the study material for him/herself, which leads to a deeper understanding of the material.

Students from all faculties, who have completed two semesters and whose cumulative GPA ranges from 84-100, and who are interested in teaching other students are invited to submit an application form – the application can be found under the Forms tab.

To schedule a meeting with the counselor, please contact the Secretariat of the Advancement of Students Unit.

Salary: The salary is 50 NIS per hour. In order to receive payment, students must submit a Teaching Account Form by the 23rd of each month. The salary includes the Technion’s payment to the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi). A pay stub is issued by the Technion.

Work Hours: Work hours are flexible, according to the tutor’s schedule. There is no need to commit to the number of working hours in advance.

Location of Work: Everywhere – in the tutor or tutee’s room, in the library, in the study rooms, etc.

Updates: Each semester, the tutor must notify the Secretariat of the unit about his intention to continue tutoring. He must also update the subject that he would like to teach, as well as his personal details if there is any change.
