Automatic eligibility
- Students who have received President’s honors for 2 consecutive semesters will be automatically entitled to dormitories for two semesters after one “cooling-off” semester
- Excellence in Admissions Data, Excellence Program, Programs of Excellence: “Brakim”, “Psagot”, “Silon”, “Alonim”, “Gvahim”, “Heznek”.
- Students with a disability of 50% of more
- Senior members of the Technion Student Association
- Orphaned students or students whose parents do not live in Israel
- New students who are not residents of Haifa or the surrounding areas and who were admitted to the Technion and requested dormitory residence; for the Winter Semester: by June 30th, medical students (as mentioned below) by August 15th, student-soldiers (as mentioned below) until October 5th
For the Spring Semester: up until the dormitory registration deadline, as posted on the website
Automatically ineligibility
- Students who are enrolled in more than one additional semester beyond the recommended timetable for their study program
- Students who are taking fewer than 10 points/credits in their primary faculty, excluding the final semester
- Ineligibility on the basis of economic status
- Submission of false information in either dormitory or scholarship applications
- Dismissal as a result of a decision by the disciplinary committee or disciplinary tribunal, or discontinuation/conclusion of studies
- Students completing an additional degree in Science Teaching (“Mabatim” Program
- Students with real estate assets
- Students in the standing army (“keva”) who are funded by the Ministry of Defense
Criteria for accumulation of points
- Family income per capita
- Being active in the Technion Student Association
- Distance from the Technion
- Army service, national (Leumi) service, civilian service, volunteering in the army
- Combat soldier certificate (including firefighters)
- Combat support certificate
- Reserve service in the calendar year that has ended
- Medical disability
- Membership in a sports team that participates in the league
- Having a sibling who is serving in the army or in the national (Leumi)/civilian service
- Having a sibling who is a student, up until 12th grade
- Having a sibling who is studying for their bachelor’s degree, enrolled in a preparatory program (“mechina”), or in a practical engineer training program in Israel
- New students who are residents of Haifa or the surrounding areas
- Students in the Faculty of Architecture
- Medical students in years 4-6
