Course Recommendations:
I highly recommend Geometric Analysis I – New Developments in Geometric Knot Theory. It was a very interesting and enjoyable course. In general, I found the courses at RWTH Aachen to be of a high level and engaging.

Social Life:
The social life on campus was excellent. I made many friends both in courses and at student parties and bars. I also climbed about five times a week, which allowed me to meet a lot of great people. I highly recommend the city—it’s full of students and offers plenty of fun activities, including several great cinemas.

Message to Future Students:
I strongly encourage you to go on exchange! I’m really grateful to Technion for giving me this amazing experience, which I will always remember. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions about the exchange to Aachen—I benefited a lot from talking to students who had been there before me, and I’d love to pass on the knowledge.

The students were very friendly, and it was easy to make friends, whether at parties, bars, the gym, or just by talking to the person sitting next to me in class. Home Faculty: Biomedical Engineering at Technion

Host Faculty: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at RWTH Aachen

  • Email: niralmog@campus.technion.ac.il
  • Courses:

    • Unobtrusive Monitoring of Vital Signals (recognized) – This was one of the most interesting and innovative courses I attended during my exchange. I highly recommend it, as it was relevant for both Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering students.

    • Image Data Analysis (recognized)  – Another course I found quite interesting, though a bit more theoretical. Still, it provided valuable insights into image data processing.

Campus: RWTH Aachen’s campus is vast and offers a lot of opportunities to get involved, from student clubs to entertainment and special events. I really appreciated the presence of many international students, which made it easier for me to acclimatize. Aachen itself is a great student city—there’s always something to do, whether it’s socializing, exploring cafes, or attending events.

Advice to Future Students: I’d suggest consulting with students who have already studied in Germany to help prepare for the exchange. They can offer practical advice, especially when it comes to finding accommodation and handling things like health insurance. The initial phase can feel overwhelming, but trust me, it’s completely worth it once you get settled.

Personal Experience: Looking back, my semester at RWTH Aachen was life-changing. I made lifelong friends, experienced new things, and felt completely immersed in a new environment. Sure, there were challenges at first, but in the end, this exchange was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I learned a lot—not just academically, but also about different cultures and perspectives. It’s definitely something I’d recommend to anyone who has the chance to do it.
